Vireeli vs Submagic: pricing, languages and features compared

4 min readUpdated

Short answer

Both turn a talking video into a captioned short with cut pauses and zooms. Submagic is a subscription with more tools: clips from long videos, automatic cutaway footage, scheduling and 4K export on its top plan. Vireeli charges per video in credits, from monthly, yearly or one-time Lifetime plans and credit packs, has Hinglish captions in Roman letters and shows prices in rupees in India.

Pricing: credits or a subscription

The biggest difference is how you pay. Submagic sells plans with a number of videos per month. Vireeli sells credits: a short of up to 3 minutes costs 3 credits, and credits stay in your balance until you use them. Editing, switching styles and exporting again are free on both counts.

  • If you post a lot, every week, a subscription's per-video price can work out well, as long as you use what you pay for.
  • If you post in bursts, or are just starting, paying per video means nothing is wasted in a quiet month.

Languages and Hinglish captions

Submagic lists more speech languages: 123, against Vireeli's 35 on the upload form (the editor's Optimize can transcribe again in more). If your language is only on Submagic's list, that settles it.

For Hindi-speaking creators, Vireeli's Hinglish (Roman) option writes Hindi speech in English letters, the way most people type it, and keeps English words in English. See Hinglish captions. Vireeli also loads fonts for Indian scripts, so Hindi, Bengali, Tamil and other scripts show correctly in the export; see Hindi subtitles.

When Submagic is the better choice

  • You want several short clips picked out of one long video automatically.
  • You want cutaway footage added over your talking head without finding it yourself.
  • You want to schedule and publish to your social accounts from the same tool.
  • You need 4K or 60 fps exports, or tools to automate editing at scale.
  • Your language is one Vireeli doesn't offer.

When Vireeli is the better choice

  • You'd rather pay once for life or buy credit packs than keep a subscription, and want credits that never expire.
  • You make Hindi or Hinglish videos and want captions in Roman letters.
  • You want prices in rupees.
  • Your videos run past 2 minutes and you don't want a higher plan just for length: Vireeli charges 1 credit per extra minute after the first 3.
  • You want every caption style available on every plan, including Free.

The best test is your own video. Sign up for both free options, upload the same clip, and compare the captions, the cuts and how long the editing takes you. Try Vireeli free.

Questions and answers

Is Vireeli a Submagic alternative?

Yes, for talking videos: both add word-by-word captions, cut pauses and add zooms, and both let you edit the result. Vireeli doesn't cut clips from long videos or post for you, so it's an alternative for single shorts rather than for every Submagic feature.

Which one is cheaper?

It depends on how often you post. Vireeli's cheapest plan is $12 a month for 50 credits (about 16 shorts), and credits never expire; Submagic Starter is $19 per month for 15 videos, or $12 per month billed annually (prices checked 2 October 2026).

Can I move my caption style from Submagic?

There's no import, but Vireeli's 40 caption styles cover the popular looks, from bold Hormozi-style captions to boxed and serif ones, and each can be customised. See caption styles.
