How to turn a raw video into a ready-to-post short

What you need before you start
- A video of someone talking. Vireeli works best on talking-to-camera clips: tips, explainers, product videos, stories. It makes captions from speech, so a clip with no talking gets no captions.
- A supported file. MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM or MKV, up to 2 GB. Phone footage is fine; you don't need to edit it first.
- Credits. Credits come with a plan: plans start at $12 a month for 50 credits. One short costs 3 credits for up to 3 minutes of video. See how credits work.
Make your first short, step by step
- 1Create an account, pick a plan and open New reel from your dashboard.
- 2Under Upload your raw video, drop the file in or click to choose it. Long uploads show their progress; keep the tab open until the upload finishes.
- 3Set Speech language to the language spoken in the video. Auto detects it, but picking it gives more accurate captions. For Hindi you want written in English letters, pick Hinglish (Roman).
- 4Pick a Caption style. All 40 styles are free to use, and you can switch to another one later without paying again.
- 5Check the cost in the summary, then click Make my reel. Credits are reserved after the upload and given back if processing fails.
- 6Wait while Vireeli reads the video, transcribes it, plans the edit and renders it. You can close the tab; the short will be waiting on your dashboard.
- 7Open the short to review it in the editor, change anything you like, then click Export to download the MP4.

Review, edit and download
The editor shows a live preview that uses the same renderer as the export, so what you see is what you download. Your edits save on their own, and you can undo any change with Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on a Mac).

When it looks right, click Export. Exporting, and exporting again after more changes, is free. You can also download the captions as SRT, VTT or TXT files; see how to download subtitle files.
Tips for better results
- Record clean audio. Captions are only as good as the speech they come from. A phone held close beats a camera across the room, and the Audio tab can remove background noise afterwards.
- Pick the speech language instead of leaving it on Auto when the video mixes languages.
- Keep it under 3 minutes if you can. That length is covered by the base price; each extra minute adds 1 credit.
- Open with your point. The first seconds decide whether people keep watching; see how to write a hook.
Questions and answers
Do I need to edit my video before uploading it?
No. Upload the raw clip, mistakes and pauses included. Vireeli cuts the silences, and you can remove bad takes and stray words in the Trim tab.
How long does it take?
It depends on the length of the video. You don't have to wait on the page: close the tab and the finished short will be on your dashboard.

Is there a watermark?
No. Every plan exports in 1080p without a watermark. Only top-up credits on an account with no plan export at 720p with a small watermark.
