How to make Hormozi-style captions

3 min readUpdated

Short answer

Hormozi-style captions are big, bold, mostly uppercase words shown one to three at a time, with the key word in a bright colour and a thick outline or shadow. In Vireeli, pick Hormozi 1 (the default style), Hormozi 2 to Hormozi 5 or Beast when you upload, and the captions are timed to every word automatically. Fine-tune them under Customize.

What makes the Hormozi caption style

The look is named after the business creator Alex Hormozi, whose short videos made it popular, and it's now the default for talking-head content. It works because each part makes the video easier to follow with the sound off:

  • Few words at a time: one to three words, so the eye takes them in instantly.
  • Big, heavy letters, usually uppercase in a bold, condensed font.
  • Key words in colour: one word per line pops out, often in yellow or green.
  • Thick outline or shadow, so the text reads over any background.
  • A little motion: words pop or bounce in as they're spoken.
  • Centred in the lower middle of the frame, clear of the app's buttons.

When another style fits better

Hormozi-style captions shout, which suits tips, opinions and sales. For calm stories, tutorials with lots of detail or emotional moments, a softer style with more words per line reads better. Whatever you pick, keep the same look across a series so viewers recognise your videos.

Questions and answers

What font do Hormozi captions use?

The look relies on a heavy, condensed, all-caps sans-serif rather than one exact font. Vireeli's Hormozi styles come with fonts that match it, such as Anton in Hormozi 4, and you can swap the font under Customize.

Do Hormozi-style captions work in Hindi?

Yes. Devanagari has no capital letters, so the uppercase setting leaves Hindi as it is, but the size, colour highlight and motion all work. See Hindi subtitles and Hinglish captions.

Are the Hormozi styles free?

Yes. Every caption style works on every plan, including Free.
